I also thought that some of the prostitute segments in Stineford were cool, especially the 'noble' one. But there are sections where Yarra just hits a solid wall, usually in animal-heavy areas, so that kind of stymies me. Though ideally she'd have some way to do non-sex damage, that's the big one the way I tend to use Yarra and Qum are to get through grindy sections since their SP regenerates and then I can toss Robin at bosses with full Mana. Thinking about Yarra, maybe she could get something like an Evasion+ illusion ability for the above situations? She is our illusion specialist, she uses it all the time in story sections, but no such luck in combat.

The project takes a deep dive into economics, social issues and urban planning. Though the sim uses the city-building computer game Cities: Skylines, it is much more than a game. “When I looked at old maps and photos, I couldn’t even imagine where things were. When he moved back to Warsaw in 2017, he spent a lot of time walking around the city trying to match what he saw to the Warsaw he knew had existed before the war. Always interested in cities and how they develop, he set up an NGO in Łódź when he was just 16 to improve the quality of urban planning in the city. Ruciński was born in Warsaw but moved to Łódź when he was young. Many people have wondered the same thing, so I thought it would be interesting to follow it through.” Ruciński told TFN: “It is one of the greatest ‘what ifs’. It meant that they played an active role in how the Jewish district was rebuilt. However, there were more Jewish survivors and they still owned land in Warsaw. In the sim, the Holocaust still happened and the Warsaw Ghetto was reduced to rubble. It also has its own Olympic Village from an imagined games in 1968. The city they built features 1960s’ social housing estates and 1980s’economic-boom office buildings. The gamers imagined the results of post-war elections and the effect they would have had on urban planning. Instead they have built Warsaw as if it had been part of the West for the last 75 years, showing how waves of post-war development that affected Western European cities would have affected Warsaw too. To find the answer he and a group of like-minded urban development enthusiasts created a computer simulation that shows Warsaw as if it had emerged from the war largely intact.īut what they have created is not just an online sim of pre-war Warsaw showing all the former tenement buildings and the city’s previous street plan. This is the question that urban planning and city strategy expert Krzysztof Ruciński asked himself when he moved to Warsaw in 2017. What would Warsaw be like if it had not been destroyed in World War Two and Poland had not been occupied by the Soviet Union? The urban planners rebuilt Warsaw as if it had been part of the West for the last 75 years, showing how waves of post-war development that affected Western European cities would have affected Warsaw too. I’m using ATI’s latest 9.12 HDMI audio driver… More info… this ati 5750 has audio built in to it using a realtek chipset. Ideas? Maybe this ATI HDMI port is not spdif, so your turorial doesn’t apply? I have no idea here… It’s also worked for HDMI from the Tivo before. – my receiver says PCM L/R (stereo), even though I see 6 ch in all software… My receiver is set to surround decode, a setting that works for all my optical connections (i.e. I’m assuming because the ATI 5750 HDMI port is not spdif? Ok… now what. and it does not say “passthrough” in output. I see all 6 ch in the AC3Filter making sounds in their bargraphs. The AC3 Filter icon appears in the system tray. mpeg video decoded from by tivo, it plays with AC3 6 ch. (But wouldn’t this harm a lot of formats?) everything? or just the DTS and AC3 stuff only?… I have only unchecked the AC3 and DTS stuff in Internal Filters… on both sides (Source Filters and Transform Filters)… If you mean for us to actually uncheck all, please clarify. – when you said “uncheck everything in filter settings” do you mean in Internal Filters? and really. I have an ATI 5750 card, and I followed your MPC-HC instructions. Please give feedback if everything worked, or if you encounter any problems. If the only way to control volume level is by using your reciever, then it should be working. Press OK to save and start Mediaportal to test. Set Audio decoder to AC3Filter and renderer to ATI HD Audio rear ouput.Ĭontinue to the Movie Post Processing section and add AC3Filter by double clicking it in the lower pane, make sure the selection box is marked. When installed, open Mediaportal Setup and go to Movie Player settings (see screenshot below). It uses Directshow for media processing and can therefore be used together with AC3Filter. Mediaportal is an open source media center software for windows. If the volume control doesn’t work and the only way to adjust the volume is on the receiver, then everything is working perfectly. This can be done by clicking the AC3Filter icon in the system tray when the movie is playing and see if it says “Passthrough” under “Output format”.Īnother way to test this is by adjusting the windows volume. You should now try playing back a video with AC3 or DTS sound to see if you hear anything, if there is sound playing you should check if digital pass-through is working. Then continue to the System tab and make sure it matches the following screenshot. Set “Output format” to something that matches your speaker configuration and is compatible with your receiver.Ĭontinue to the SPDIF tab, and make sure the settings under SPDIF passthrough match the following screenshot. Locate the AC3Filter config in the start menu under Programs. You can now close Media Player Classic Home Cinema. Go to Filter Settings and make sure everything there is unchecked, then continue to Audio Switcher and disable the built in audio switcher.Ĭontinue to external filters, choose Add Filter and select AC3Filter, press OK and make sure it is set to prefer. Important: Under “DirectShow Audio” make sure the right output is selected (not system default), in my case this is “ATI HD rear output”. Open MPC-HC, go to View > Options and select Output.

Harrowing helmet-cam footage shows moment of crash that killed biker. Marty lets out a “Great Scott!” while Doc admits that their wild west situation is “heavy.” These skewed similarities are still distinct enough to separate the films. In both the first and third movies part of the storyline hinges on how to power the DeLorean, there’s a love interest at the center of the drama, a Tannen is the main antagonist, a prominent ‘80s band makes an appearance and contributes to the soundtrack (this time ZZ Top instead of Huey Lewis), a photo of Marty represents the time-traveling exploits of the main characters, and Marty and Doc even exchange their iconic lines. Part III - which was released a short six months later in May 1990 - not only delivers on that, but it also functions as a masterful semi-mirror image of the original. Still, I can’t imagine being an audience member in 1989 and seeing that “To Be Concluded …” played across the screen at the conclusion of the second movie because all you want is more once it’s over. Zemeckis and co-creator Bob Gale made a deal with Universal Pictures at the time to shoot the second and third movies back-to-back, so it’s only natural that the second movie would live in that dreaded Act II limbo of being after the beginning and before the end. That’s no fluke, they were designed that way. If anything, Back to the Future Part II perfectly sets up the payoff of the series’ last part despite being a relatively self-contained story. Most people even forget the second half where Marty goes back into the timeline of the first movie altogether. It’s the minutiae, not the entirety of the movie. They remember the flying car, the hoverboard, and the glowing Nikes. People love the sequel, but not for any real story-based reasons. In terms of sheer emotion, excitement, and downright fun, Part III is as good if not equal to the original, and leaves the first sequel far in the DeLorean’s rearview. But just because something is great doesn’t mean that other movies, including those in the same series, can equal it. It’s the best kind of mainstream popcorn entertainment that typified the 1980s Spielbergian cinema that defined many a childhood. The original movie is good, in fact it’s not just good, it’s great. We’ll tread lightly here, as the 1985 first installment has gone down by some as objectively the greatest thing to happen in cinema history, no questions asked. Where is Part III in all of this, the full-on western concluding installment, and why does it get shafted in favor of the inferior movie that came before it? Back to the Future Part III gets no respect even though it’s almost as good as the original. For all the pomp and circumstance around the 30th anniversary of the original classic, and the iconic what-if scenarios of the second installment, there is a conspicuous absence in the fandom of the adventures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown. With the time circuits off and the dust all settled after Back to the Future Day, everything that needed to be said has probably already been said about Robert Zemeckis’ time travel trilogy.
